Over the Labor Day weekend, we stayed in town and did fun things during the day. One thing we did was fishing for crawdads at Strawberry. It was so much fun! I lost count on how many we actually caught (I say we, but I had no part in actually catching them...I was more of the observer). We then boiled them up right there and ate them...once again, I was the observer, refusing to eat them. Tanner had more fun throwing rocks into the lake than anything else and making "rock soup".

Another angel grew her wings

Today has just been filled with sad news. Little Sadie Huish from Eagle Mountain lost her battle with brain cancer this morning. I've been following her blog for sometime now and have been praying that she would overcome this or a cure would be found, but I guess there was a bigger plan in store for her. When her mom asked if she was ready to meet Jesus the night before she passed, Sadie said "yes". Well little Sadie, your now with Jesus and your able to run and play and do all the many things this horrible disease stopped you from doing for so long. Life is short and precious and should never be taken for granted.

Sad week in the world of entertainment....

It has been a tragic week in the entertainment industry. Ed McMahon passed away on Tuesday and what are the odds that we had an interview set up with Jay Leno that very same day on our show. We asked him about Ed McMahon's passing and you can listen to that interview on our website.
What a sad day it was today. First we hear the sad story of the passing of Farrah Fawcett who has been battling cancer for the past few years. I've been following her story and watched the documentary she did a couple weeks ago and my heart broke at the pain and suffering she went through.
Then to hear of the tragic passing of pop icon Michael Jackson...wow, what a shock! I remember when I was younger and my sisters had his records and would play them over and over and I remember thinking how cute he was. No matter what he did the past few years of his life, he changed music as we knew it. He had his struggles but one thing will always remain...his music is and always will be amazing!

Sweet Angels

I've been following a few blogs over the last few months about some sweet angels who are fighting a rate brain cancer. One is Sadie Huish from right here in Utah and she is a fighter! I never seem to be able to keep my emotions together when I read her mother's updates on her condition, but what a brave little girl. Although her time here is growing shorter by the day, she is still determined to fight her hardest! After reading her story, I found a lot more children with this rare disease and have been following their story too. This blog was just created to help with awareness of this type of cancer and just how deadly it is to these little kids. I am thankful everyday that I have been blessed with a healthy little boy. I find myself to busy to read his favorite book at night, or go outside with him to watch him do his "new trick" on the tramp, or play catch with him. I have to take a second and remind myself just how precious every little moment is and I have made it a point to make "Tanner and Mommy" time each night before bed. He picks out 3 books and we read every night. Life is to short and unpredictable so cherish what you have today because tomorrow, it could change.

Energy...I need energy!

I've been trying to loose weight and I've been doing ok with just watching what I eat but I cannot seem to make myself get to the gym! I don't know what it is...I am NOT a fan of the gym! I know it would help the weight come off faster and it would help with my whole "I never have energy" problem, but I ALWAYS have an excuse why I "can't" make it to the gym. To help with the whole fear of the "skinny girls" at the gym I went out and bought a exercise bike and a Wii Fit so I don't have to leave the comforts of my home...do you think I use either one? NOPE! WTH! I know I have to get up at a horrible time in the morning (4:15 to be exact); most people don't even know this particular time exists, but I usually can sneak in a nap when Tanner takes a nap...so what is my deal? I need a workout friend..things are always so much more fun when you have a buddy. That will be my next excuse...I don't have a friend to go with me LOL :) I know...I'm L A Z Y!

If you want something new and fun to do with your family with great pictures to have as reminders afterwards, Faces Photography in Draper is perfect for that! It's a portrait studio that you can have a paint fight with your kids, spouses even animals while having your pictures professionally taken. Tanner and I had so much fun!

CLASS OF 2009!
Well after many (and I mean MANY) years of writing papers, studying for tests, doing homework, writing more papers...I'm FINALLY done! I graduated from the University of Phoenix today! YEAH ME! My parents, sisters and a few of my nieces all came to cheer me on. I don't know how I could have done it without my family's support, especially my mom and dad. They take care of Tanner for me on the nights I have school or have to get homework done and I know I couldn't have done it without them. GO CLASS OF '09!
